We are in this together!
This is a common phrase but it’s so true. One things I’ve always believed is that we need other people to walk through life with us; especially when you are dealing with mental health.
We need other people in our lives to be there for us; to encourage us and to walk through the journey with us. Often times we don’t just need a friend but somebody to listen, care, or just be there. In my personal life I’ve learned the best way to have friends is to first be a friend. Investing in relationship and letting people know you are there for them is the best way to know you will have someone there for you when you need them or they need you.
Knowing that you have a friend or somebody that you are close to when you are in a time of need can make a huge impact on a person who struggles with their mental health. It can even save a life. Having a person who can be there for you when you are going through and anxiety attract, or a depressive episode can be life saving. It’s important to have people you can trust and that trust you. Transparency is so important when you struggle with your mental health. People need to know what’s going on and how they need to help you.
